The sun is up, the sky is blue, the temperature is rising…but are we all going on a summer holiday?
Well, no – we’d rather go on the road trip from Hell…or even the road trip to Hell (at least it should be hot there!).
For Issue 3 of Massacre Magazine the theme is …
We are looking for journeys into terror – the weary traveller who finds himself on the road to nowhere, the wrong turn in a strange city, the Good Samaritan who regrets offering a lift…
The road and the kill are entirely up to you!
The deadline for ‘road kill’ themed fiction and dark verse is: April 30th, 2014 (midnight, GMT).
Word count for fiction: 500 – 10,000.
In the subject line of your email please put: ROAD KILL/YOUR NAME/TITLE OF YOUR WORK. For complete guidelines click HERE.
We aim to release Issue 3 with the road kill theme around June 1st 2014. However, we are looking for great writing and if this means we have to extend that date we will do so. We will provide further information if you are accepted and before you sign a contract.
Summer contest is now CLOSED
Thank you for all your entries – the winner will be notified and announced as soon as we make our decision!

Our resurrection theme has raised The Gorgon’s Kiss from Stephanie Ellis and My Search For Perfection from Paul Holbrook. Anthony Crowley treats us to a new take on a classic theme with his poem Constructing Death.
